Learn to play music in VR, right in your browser. Museverse puts a taiko drum and a marimba in front of you on a sunlit desert stage, and teaches you to play them one short lesson at a time. There is nothing to download or install, and no musical experience is needed.
A GUIDED FIRST VISIT
On your first visit, a narrator welcomes you and shows you around: look around the stage, head over to the taiko, set your height, try walking with the left stick, then play an introductory lesson at the drum. You can skip the introduction at any time.
TWO INSTRUMENTS, 24 LESSONS
• Taiko: 12 lessons, from Drum Basics to Echo Practice. Pick up the sticks and learn the rhythms of the Japanese taiko drum. Notes travel towards the drum head, so you can see each beat coming.
• Marimba: 12 lessons. Take the mallets and play melodies on the bars, with the notes arriving in front of you and each bar's letter name shown below it.
Every lesson plays with its own backing track and keeps score as you go.
SEE YOUR PROGRESS
• At the end of each lesson a results card shows your stars, accuracy, hits, combo and score.
• Earn at least one star to unlock the next lesson.
• Each instrument's lesson menu tracks your progress and your daily practice streak.
• Your progress is saved in your headset's browser, so you can pick up where you left off.
EXPLORE THE STAGE
Walk or teleport around the deck to reach each instrument. Its lesson menu appears as you walk up. Drums, a harp and a piano are on the stage too. They aren't playable here yet; they're coming soon.
WANT MORE?
These are the Easy lessons. Medium and Hard lessons, and more instruments including the piano, are in the full Museverse app on Meta Quest. Look for the "Get it on the Meta Quest Store" button.
HOW TO PLAY
You need a VR headset with controllers. Enter VR from the page, and the mallets or sticks are in your hands as you walk up to an instrument. Use the left stick to walk and the right stick to turn or teleport. On the left controller, Y and X raise or lower your height. Point and pull the trigger to use the menus.
